Be specific, the information being provided will be used to determine your acceptance into the parade. WRITTEN DESCRIPTION*Example: Colorful float, pulled by antique tractor, depicting our organization. We will also have 15-20 people marching behind the float. They will be handing out beads, etc. No advertising coupons are allowed. ENTRY: Any entry advertising a product or a company in the DTE Energy Foundation Cherry Royale Parade is subject to a fee and shall be considered a commercial business entry. 2. JUDGING: Floats will be judged during the DTE Energy Foundation Cherry Royale Parade. Awards will be mailed to winners and published in local media. 3. SIZE: No float may exceed 13 feet 6 inches in height due to traffic lights and power lines on Front and Union Streets. Please measure the total entry length, including the vehicle, tow bar, and float to ensure sufficient spacing for the staging area. 4. SPECIFICATIONS: To qualify as a float, the unit must be completely decorated and be in good taste for family event. 5. MARKETING: All units will be inspected for unapproved advertising, sponsor mentions, etc. All unauthorized advertising will be removed or fee will be assessed. 6. VEHICLE OPERATORS: Drivers of motorized vehicles licensed for road use must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license. 7. SAFETY: Floats must be equipped with a Class ABC fire extinguisher. In case of emergencies -- Driver must remain near vehicle at all times and provide cell phone number on provided placard for Parade personnel. All units will be checked for compliance.WALKING / MARCHING UNIT RULES1. No maneuvers are allowed that slow the forward movement of the parade. 2. Musical units, precision drill teams, and baton units must consist of at least 15 members unless approved by Director of Parades. 3. Marching units are defined as walking units only. Escort vehicles are not permitted. 4. Medical support is staged throughout parade route.Number of Walkers*Please indicate your entry’s anticipated number of participants who will walk the entire Parade Route. NOTE: If you plan to have any type of motorized vehicle, go back and choose VEHICLE or FLOAT instead of Walking Unit. 15-2020-3030-50>50ANIMAL UNIT RULES1. Each unit is required to have their own CLEAN UP CREW or responsible for cleaning up their own waste. Failure to do so will result in removal from the parade. 2. Parade dress for horse riders is desired. 3. Animals must be controlled by means of a harness, halter, or leash, if not otherwise contained. 4. Acrobatic maneuvers must be approved by the Director of Parades. ANIMAL ENTRY DESCRIPTION*Describe your type of animal or animals -- and quantity. Also include the amount of space you require for staging the animals and anything else related to your entry. Example: If you have a horse drawn wagon, include the room for the horses in addition to the wagon so you have a little extra room in the staging area if needed. VEHICLE RULES1. Motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, or other motorized vehicles not licensed for road use are deemed unacceptable unless approved by the Director of Parades. 2. The National Cherry Festival reserves the right to refuse any entry that is deemed not to be in the best interest of the National Cherry Festival. Violation of any rule contained herein may result in the immediate removal of a unit prior to or during the parade and render the unit ineligible to participate in future parades.
